UAE Is All Smiles for Promoting Dental Health

Smile! Say Cheese! Show Your Pearly Whites! These are not just phrases, but are the expressions of good oral health. Sadly, dental pain, jaw alignment issues and other dental ailments take away much-cherished smiles from the faces of both young and old. It is all the more important to persistently work towards optimal dental health. Many dental universities, hospitals, clinics, and dentists all over the world are extending their efforts in bringing back healthy smiles through their unique initiatives.

Even the World Health Organization (WHO) has charted out a three-year roadmap (2019–2021) to promote dental care under it’s much-touted Oral Health Programme. As a part of this initiative, it will soon issue the WHO Global Oral Health Report to reinforce the commitment to dental health among the world’s policymakers. As we enter the next decade, the findings of this report will make way for a global oral health action plan till 2030.

Dental treatments are expensive, patients shell out on average 20% out-of-pocket health expenditure in most high-income countries.

But, many countries have prioritised oral health as a key health indicator. The UAE, a prime country in the MENA region has partnered with the World Health Organization for the GCC Oral Health Unified Week to reiterate its strong commitment towards optimal oral healthcare.

UAE Oral Healthcare – Ensuring Healthy Smiles

UAE has always focused on the overall health of its citizens and expatriates. Its robust world-class infrastructure and well-aligned policies always make it easier for people to access the high standard of healthcare.

Alongside the regular health parameters, UAE is also promoting oral healthcare on a larger scale. The country is collectively extending dental healthcare to all citizens via different initiatives.
