Dr Joseph Muhammad is a qualified Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon with dual degrees in Dentistry (1986) and Medicine (1994) from the University of London. He has earned multiple fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, England and Ireland. He also has a strong interest in quality improvement and patient safety.
As an undergraduate medical student, he obtained the Golding Bird Medal and Prize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Gillespie Prize in Psychological Medicine. In 2009, he was runner up in the best facial reconstructive case category for Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Dental Facial Cosmetics Awards.
Dr Joseph has held prestigious leadership roles in major hospitals and actively contributes to research, teaching, and international presentations. His has managed complex oral and maxillofacial surgical cases, which have been published in peer review journals. He reviews manuscripts for several journals and has been invited faculty for AOCMF in the UAE and abroad.
As a fitness enthusiast, Dr Joseph enjoys playing tennis and participates in half marathons. He is proud to be a member of Abu Dhabi Running Team (ADRT). He has an interest in Islamic art, especially, calligraphy, textiles, and tribal carpets. He supports Manchester City and his favourite TV character is Lieutenant Colombo, the meticulous but understated detective.
Learning Arabic is one of his passions as is his commitment to continuous learning in the ever-evolving field of OMFS.
