Johann is a fully qualified Dental Technician with over 12 years of experience. In 2009, he achieved his National Diploma in Dental Technology and then was awarded a B-Tech Bachelor’s Degree in 2010, both from Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa.

Undertaking his apprenticeship in South Africa, Johann gained valuable experience working in different dental laboratories where he specialised in crown and bridge fabrication, plastic prosthetic work, as well as various CAD/CAM systems.

In 2012, Johann moved to Dubai, and held Lab Manager positions at various clinics before joining the Snö Dental Clinics team, in 2017.

Johann’s artistry, attention to detail and dedication to provide the best results for every patient, both functional and aesthetic, makes him a valued member of our team.

When Johann is away from our lab, he enjoys time golfing and traveling with his wife.

Johann is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Speciality Practices

Johann’s speciality is in establishing digital in-house laboratories. By utilising state-of-the-art technology, Johann develops strategies to increase productivity by lowering manufacturing times of crown and bridge prosthetics.

He has introduced concepts like Crown in an Hour, where in a single visit a posterior crown is prepped, scanned, manufactured and placed in less time it takes to watch a movie. Revolutionary.

The Snö lab is equipped with the best-in-class technology and equipment, utilising this capability Johann structures the lab work flow to provide patients with a quick turnaround of highly accurate shade, shape and fit. He works with superior technology that allows him to create crowns, bridges, veneers, implants that are super accurate and 100% patient specific.

The Rapid Shape 3D printer is used to manufacture high-end dental models and night guards. Implant splints that are used for guided surgery. The fully automated 3D CAD/CAM 5 axis dental milling machine moulds temporary crowns and bridges, Emax crowns and veneers, composite crowns, inlays and onlays, Zirconia crowns and bridges.  The machine also mills full arch bridges with superior accuracy.  

Johann continues to stay abreast with the latest advancements in dentistry by attending conferences at CAD/CAM & Digital Dentistry, Dubai Dental Technology and AEEDC.

He is member of the South African Dental Technicians Council and Dental Technicians Association of South Africa.
